WLAR TPD Training in Aqaba Entered its Second Phase

The WLAR TPD Program in the Aqaba Governorate has started training on the 2nd of the Core Training-of-the-Trainers activity.

AMMAN, JORDAN, May 05, 2009 /E-Learning PR News/ -- The World Links Arab Region (WLAR) Teachers' Professional Development (TPD) Program in the Aqaba Governorate has started training on the 2nd of the Core Training-of-the-Trainers activity, after having successfully completed Module 1 of the training, earlier this year. The training took place at the Aqaba Secondary Comprehensive School for Girls. The Director of the Directorate of Local Community at ASEZA Karima Al-Dabet and the CEO of World Links Reem Bsaiso visited the training.

With the support of the Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority (ASEZA), the training was initiated following the signing of Memorandums of Understandings (MoUs) among WLAR, ASEZA and the Jordanian Ministry of Education (MoE). This training will lead to the Core and Master Training of 44 Educators and the Cascade training of about 1000 teachers. The training is expected to cover most of the Governorate of Aqaba schools and possibly surrounding areas/Governorates, aspiring to reach the maximum of educational personnel and youth within local communities.

The World Links TPD Program trains teachers on how to effectively use advanced Information & Communications Technologies (ICT) and gain new skills, such as critical thinking, problem solving, employing research techniques and working collaboratively within groups. The teachers, as major facilitators inside the classroom, pass these new acquired skills, techniques and experiences to their students, preparing them to become self and life-long learners within their communities

World Links is a leading ever-evolving organization with the noble mission to reach 20 million Arab youth in Arab Countries within the next decade.
