ALISON ICT Training World Languages Programme

As part of the ALISON effort to support global ICT (Information and Communications Technologies) development projects, ALISON is working with several International organizations to translate its courseware into the world's major languages

/E-Learning PR News/ - February 22, 2008 - As part of the ALISON effort to support global ICT (Information and Communications Technologies) development projects, and as part of the organization's continuing efforts to make its ECDL/ICDL training available in all of the world's major languages, the East Azerbaijan Institute of Technology in Iran recently translated the ICDL course from ALISON into the Persian (Farsi) language. There are an estimated 71 million Persian speakers around the world, most of whom are located in Iran, Afghanistan, and Tajikistan.

ALISON is also working with OneRoof International to translate its courseware into Spanish and Tamil. This initiative will bring ALISON ICDL courseware to a further 400 million native Spanish speakers, and 70 million native Tamil speakers in India, Sri Lanka and Singapore. Separately, translations to Arabic and Turkish are currently being completed which will allow another 257 million people become IT literate online for free.

Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) and Education sector partners of ALISON frequently ask ALISON to provide its courseware in multiple languages, as basic ICT skills education is in huge demand globally. Please contact us directly should you wish to partner with us to assist with any of our existing translation and localization projects or to propose additional ones.

ALISON is the world's leading free online learning resource for basic and essential workplace skills. ALISON provides high-quality, engaging, interactive multimedia courseware for certification and standards-based learning. All courses on ALISON are accessible for free to individual learners.
